About This Division

After many years of research, I have accumulated much data and notes about my Marsh and related family ancestors and their descendants. In addition, as I searched for connections to my extended family, I have helped others with their research and have recorded much information about families with whom I have no known connection. All of this information is stored in a relational database. I now wish to disseminate much of this information before it is lost - I won't live for ever! With so many people now having access to computers, which enables them to browse the internet, a website, I believe, is the most efficient way to obtain the widest distribution of my efforts.

What to Expect

This is a no-frills project. Don't look for bells, whistles, fancy backgrounds etc. The information will be published in manageable blocks, comprising  a series of descendancy charts, each based on the town or village in which the head of that branch of the family resided. Initially, the locations will be found in the County of Kent in England, but eventually locations in other counties and countries will be covered. Marsh family members migrated throughout Kent and other English counties and many emigrated beyond England's shores, looking for a better way of life, or perhaps were transported as punishment for some transgression. The reader will be able to follow these migrations as the descendandcy charts are scanned. You can link directly to the chart of your choice by clicking the title below and return to this page in the same way from similar lists on other pages.

Accuracy

I do not claim 100% accuracy. If you find something of use, please follow the golden rule for family research,  `check original sources.'

I often obtain information about people with no dates. In such cases, for reference and search purposes, I assign an estimated date in my records based on the information available. This usually takes the form of Abt 1865/1875. Unfortunately, with the automatic print out system I use the first date only appears without the Abt. Again if you wish to be exact, check original sources.

Your Input is Needed

My database was not built solely by my efforts, many have contributed. If you, the reader, notice something you feel is incorrect or have something to add to a chart, please let me, Bill Marsh, know. I would also like to hear from you if you have found  information useful to your own research in the charts. We all benefit if information is shared.

Post a Descendancy Chart

Do you have a Marsh ancestor? If you wish to submit the information to me, Bill Marsh, I will assign a page for an appropriate descendancy chart to be posted. Perhaps a relative will spot it and provide you with new information

Updating

The charts can be amended easily. They will be updated promptly as new information is received.
