MARSH FAMILIES OF KENT

INTRODUCTION (HOME PAGE)

I am closing down marshkent.freeservers.com, and it's associated sites.. I shall, however, be continuing my family research activities, principally, putting my own extended family history in order. In this regard I have removed detailed information from some pages directly concerned with my ancestry and the website is now hosted at http://www.christopher.ashman.btinternet.co.uk/marshkent/

Persons who are related to me may contact me direct at fmarsh@allstream.net .

See also Marsh DNA Project

Have just received notice of a near match between my Marsh DNA match and that of another Kent Marsh participant.. Only partial results are available at the moment. The full results should give a better picture.
Best Wishes to all, Bill Marsh.

Purpose

This is a no-frills, information site, the purpose of which is to provide specific information about MARSH persons born or who have lived in the county of Kent, England. I hope that over time I shall provide something of interest to all who pay a call.

My Interests and Activities My principal area of interest, so far as family research is concerned, is in the Marsh and related families of Kent. In the process of tracing my ancestry I have built up a large database and this has resulted in some spin-off information which might be of use to others with similar interests. Accordingly, I propose to publish some summaries of my gleanings collected over the years.

My first spin-off effort was a list of births/christenings extracted from my main relational database. Next I started a series of family trees. If you feel that a person listed anywhere throughout my site is related to you and you wish more information, send me details of your perceived connection, including dates and places. Information relating to living persons will not be released without the permission of those persons. Some other information may require the permission of interested parties.

In addition to my search for information about Marsh persons in Kent, England, I am interested in their relatives in other counties and countries. Accordingly, in the birth index and among the family trees you will find entries of events occurring in  places throughout England and around the world.

I do not guaranty 100% accuracy because information has been garnered from many sources. I do endeavour to check the accuracy of all information, but it is not always possible to do so. I will supply you with the source of any specific information so that you can make an assessment of its accuracy or follow up the source. Please check all information against original sources.

Arrangement of Information

There are three divisions to this site as follows:

My Pages contain information about my immediate and extended family.

Marsh Family Trees is a series of truncated trees with specific notes about some individuals. Some of the trees are for persons who are part of my extended family, others have no known connection to my Marsh line.

General Interest will cover the birth index and items such as the list of Marsh households listed in the Kent Hearth Tax Assessment of 1664.
